just wondering what yall think or see people overlook when they trying to build a fast car...whether it be overlooking the importance of good suspension or having a certian gear ration and everything in between....just curious what yall think...thought this topic may lead to some good discussions

most people tend to be hyped up about big hp without knowing that the car has to hook.... My vote would be suspension and tires...

Driveability. . . . .

Sometimes we get one thing far ahead of the other. . . . Usualy it is HP. . . The car still need to hook well and drive good.

Yeah suspension i am building my car from the rear forward, 2, would say the minor detail part of a car the actual look some cars run fast but are flat out ugly and not put together clean, with a little time a care it would look better and run just my opinion.

A drivetrain built to compensate for the extra power gets neglected often.

Yes. If you have a 400hp car that can't put it to the ground a 350hp car will beat it everytime. The old cliche "spinning ain't winning" is very true......

I have to vote for brakes on a street car. Going faster on the street means taking some responsibility for slowing it down faster. Never know when your flying down the fast lane and some twit pulls out going 20-30 mph slower.

Patience to not build a naturally aspirated car, and instead wait for the proper forced induction setup.

I say creature comforts. Thats what seperates a street car from a track car. Do not delete AC, bumper supports, spare tire etc etc. I agree with running lightweight stuff but not deleting on a street car.

A good brake setup and appropriate drivetrain upgrades. I know multiple people with power adders that are running around town with stock brakes and drivetrain.
