Angry So how many of you have cars that are bleeding?

My TA is leaking 3 different fluids

Power Steering from the rack
Oil from the cam cover
and just found out Tranny Fluid from the gearbox/tailshaft area...

each of them are very very small slow leaking (couple drops per park) puddles... but seriously, this is BS!

Car runs great, performs well, it's this little piddly crap that gets on my damn nerves! DAMN F-BODIES!!!!!!

I want my cake and to eat it too damnit!!!

lol,

on my black 1999 Trans Am, I have a small leak from the steering rack... Been there almost two years... Too lazy to rebuild/buy new the steering rack. It only needs about an oz. of PS fluid like every two weeks.

AND a leak from the oil pan gasket... Been too lazy to change that too... It's very slow. I will not see a change in oil level over a six-month period (between oil changes), but it's been there so long that it's the filthiest ******* thing you've ever seen...

My rack is leaking slowly too...the bellows are wet, but it never leaves fluid behind, and I don't see a change in fluid level. The PS is noisy though, but I'm not sure if that's related.

I also have a slow oil leak (I think it's from the oil pan gasket). Just enough to make the thing filthy, but not enough to leave any behind or really affect the oil level. I have a gasket, but I haven't got around to it yet. (School is crazy busy).

Yup, F-bodies are fun

You think F-bodies are the only ones that leak?

The LS1 cars are 8-12 years old now. A few little leaks is normal for any car that age, gaskets don't last forever. Personally I just don't worry about minor oil seepage type leaks. Actually the trans fluid pump has been leaking on my Nova for years, about 1/2 quart of fluid per year. I just keep a drip pan under the car in the garage. I won't waste my time pulling all that apart unless the engine or trans has to come out for some other reason.

It appears oil pan leaks are common with these.... and +1 on the pan leaking at the gasket..... It's the only one though and not enough to worry yet.

My Rack has a little leak on it somewhere. I got it used so that may be a factor.

As far as everything else Engine/Tranny..it's 4k miles old and dry as a bone.

Now the Axle Bearing Seals on the 9" suck ***..they leak their *** off. Junk.

PS pump shaft seal and the rack on the driver side leaks.

I think my rear main seeps a little bit, or the pan gasket, as there is always a little bit of oily crud around there.

Like you, it isn't much, but just enough to make things a little damp under there so I can get dirty when I crawl under the car to change the oil. Nothing like PS fluid getting in your hair

my steering rack leaks like Mcnords. I fill it up every once in awhile but if I jack it up its dumps all the fluid out, annoying as hell just haven't had the chance to fix it yet.

yea... I realize my car is old. It's gonna leak, but honestly it's had some sort of leak one way or another ever since I've owned it back in '02...

if it wasn't paid for, and I didn't enjoy it so damn much, I'd consider aquiring a car note again

My 98 doesn't leak a drop of anything

However, my 1991 Caddy with the 350 sbc does mark its territory. It'll leak MAYBE a drop of oil if I leave it parked in the same spot for over 12 hours. Its left a nice stain on the garage floor, but I really don't give a damn.
