Default should i buy this car

i'm been searching for an ls1, i found an artic white 02 ss m6 with 49k miles it's got a slp loudmouth exhaust, and a slp strut tower brace, it's the 345hp optioned car from slp. excellent condition but when i ran the carfax it came up with a discrepency with the odometer. i talked him down to 10k when he was originally asking 13,500. when i ask him, he stated that the previous owner didn't sign off on the mileage or something to that affect. what do you guys think. i know that's a steal but at the same time i wanna get a z06 hopefully next year when my funds accumulate. i just don't wanna have a hard time selling it when it's time. what's everyones opinion on this.

Sounds like a good price, but I would track down the reasoning behind that discrepancy, it could actually have 99k miles for all we know.

i would be very cautious on something where there is a mileage discrepancy...prolly more there to the story....for the price, it seems pretty cheap and i'd say the owner knows more than what they are claiming....just my .02...good luck!!

Seems like a decent price with 49k, but not with 149k. I would be very cautious. If you can't verify the mileage I would skip it. It will also affect YOUR resale value and can affect insurance claims.

If the car looks good and your planning on keeping it then I would go for it, but if your planning on selling the car within a year or so I would pass. As you will have a harder time selling a car with a millage discrepancy

yea i agree, and i did pass it up, my buddies and my fiance said the same as you. i guess i'm just trying to convince myself to overlook that aspect cuz i want it....... i'm sure every knows what i'm talking about ha.... as far as the mileage, the carfax stated the it was good until 04-09 when he bought the car and when he titled the vehicle that's what the discrency was. besides that, the milieage is consistant and it's hard for a person to drive 100k in a year

a month a go, I bought my 99 SS vert for $10k with 45k on the clock. carfax states that it has 44k in 2009 when they smog it. Also, in june 2009, the guy took it to the dealer to service it and it also states 44k.

I am happy with my purchase.

I've always gone with my "gut feeling". If it doesn't feel right from the start, I would stay away from it. JMHO...

I certainly agree. You better believe it will be a tough sell with mileage issues. PASS!!
