Default Hypothetical purchase question..

Would any of you ever buy a 1998 zo6 that has had a 200 shot ran on it? the car in question has a "built" 4l60e with a 3000 stall and drag radials too. so i know its been ran hard. Just curious. The car can be had for cheap and seems to run and drive excellent and has good power N/A. I just dont have a ton of experience with internal power of these cars.

I didn't think the Z06 cars started until 2001 for the C5s?

I may be wrong, but I thought all C5 Z06s had the small rear window with the "carrier deck" hatch and a fixed roof (looks like that one has a targa)...that looks like a Z06 clone, at least to me. According to Wiki, C5 Z06s also started in 2001 and ran to 2004, FRCs were 1999-2000.

If the guy's selling it as a C5 Z06, rather than a Z06 clone, I wouldn't buy it.

No he isnt. Im more concerned with the amount of nitrous that has been passed through it.

Ive always loved vetttes and always wanted one. im now in the position to get one and this one is a really good deal.

If the price is good enough i would worry about it.U can get a short block for the car used for $800 but 98 Corvettes are not worth much.

That car is not a Z06.

1) No Z06s built until 2001.

2) They were all built on the fixed roof platform (no targa/removeable roof).

3) No stock Z06 automatic trans, ever.

I guess this car is out of qusetion after i read this. all these mods and on a 200 shot it only made 575?? something doesnt seem right about that. Whats yalls opinion?

a custom 4L60E tranny w/ a 2800rpm stall converter and roll bar. The car is sitting on 17" HRE custom 3 piece staggard wheels with brand new Nitto NT05R 315/35/R17 Drag Radials! Lots of Goodies like LS6 intake SLP long tube Headers, H-pipe, custom exhaust, ported CNC heads, roller rockers,Crane cam #1448521,HD springs & retainers, upgraded brakes, Nitrous Express Fogger kit (200hp.), racing seat belts (pass & driver), Full Carbon fiber under the hood! And the list goes on. Dynoed at 575rwhp on the bottle!! Way too much to list! This car runs real strong even With out the Juice it's a mid 12 second N/A car! Custom tuned Have all records for car in large Folder

Calculating drive train loss on that 200 shot, it would be about ~160ish to the rear wheels, meaning the car is putting about 410 to the rear wheels without the juice. That is pretty solid for an LS1 with an auto. Knowing the cam specs would help a bit too.

depending on the dyno and the temp, but yeah i'd lean towards something doesn't seem right at all. pass this vette up and look for a better running one

C5s use an IRS which eats more power on the dyno than a solid axle. So those numbers sound good (although I don't know the specs of that cam # that's listed).
