Default Catch can with drain???

I was thinking about buying a catch can setup for my car. Had a idea to tap in line into the bottom of the can and run a drain into the front timing cover. Very similar to the turbo drain setups for front mount turbo setups.

Any input on this?

why would you want to? just to re-circulate the oil?

Trust me, you dont want any fluids that are caught in a catch can to be re circulated into your engine. There is always condensation in mine.

I didnt think there was mositure in the cans. I will investigate it a little farther and see what issues this may cause. I was saying so you dont have to drain it into a container, then dispose of it have say -6 line from the bottom of the catch can down to the timing cover and drain back into the pan.

May that will explain it a little better ^ ulitmate

I understand the reasons for these catch cans, remove oil mist to prevent buildup in intake, curtail pre ignition etc., but I have a question about what vehicles benefit from this? I thought there were improvements to the PVC system on the later cars so they would not benefit from it? Does changing to the "fixed orifice" PCV valve negate the benefit of a catch can? Does getting the catch can mean you don't need the new type PCV valve? I saw a photo of a car with the catch can AND the new PCV valve - is this overkill?

Get the catch can, run it a while, drain it into a clear container. You'll end up not tapping into anything to put the **** that comes out of it back into the engine.

yea, the oil and moisture i guess causes it to look like a milkshake in the can. it wouldn't be worth saving that little bit of oil in between oil changes anyway.

I wouldn't waste that much time trying to recycle to oil either, even if it is clean, I would put my efforts elsewhere, for maybe $1 worth or oil?

Also FYI, I've been experimenting with mine and with LS6 valley cover and catch can, eliminated PCV valve (like others have apparently done) I got a high idle especially when pushing the clutch, it would rev up to 2K and slowly come back to around 900. I then put the fixed orifice valve on and it was better but I think was still getting back flow or something. I then put the original rattle valve type in and did the idle relearn and it is around 700 RPM nice and smooth.
