Default SS Shift **** - Shift **** Threading

Gentlemen,

I'm looking at ordering a new shift **** for my car, which has the Hurst short-throw shifter and the "H" leather **** mounted now. It's not that I don't like the "H" ****, but I'm just looking for a cosmetic change -and if I don't like it, I can always throw the other back on.

Here's the one I'm looking at:

Question: I presume I need to order the standard thread kit as opposed to the metric, is that correct? Anyone have any experience with this style ****?

Also in for results. Just ordered one from Jegs in Metric like I thought was correct, but none of the adapters or nuts fit my WS6Store short stick. **** fits, just not the nuts or adapters to stop it when it is on straight.

Stock and most aftermarket sticks for LS1 f bodies come with M16-1.50 threads. That white SS ball says it has that size thread in the ball, it should screw on with no adapters.

I ordered a black Hurst ball a long time ago and it came with a lock nut, I just swapped it out for a Hurst pistol grip and it had a lock nut mixed in with all the adapter parts. Both of these fit the stock and my generic ebay stick with no adapters.

I ordered the metric kit and the ball screws on, but the adapters than look like heil coils don't fit as well as the nuts that stop the ball at the desired position. When screwed down all the way, the 1-6 shift pattern is sideways. Went to the hardware store today to find a new nut that threads onto the shifter so that I can stop the **** when its straight, but to no avail was this nut found. Everything threaded on for about half a turn then stopped. Its like this WS6Store short stick is a threading of its own.

The chrome shaft looks awesome to me. Pics to follow, as soon as it's installed.

This is true. It really can't be crooked, mathematically speaking; however, the bottom of the sphere is where the threads are, and if the distance from the threads to the logo on one side is not equidistant with the other side, it could be considered crooked. You wouldn't be able to tell from the picture though.

I installed that on an M29 T56 in an LT1 car. I liked it. However, you wont see the handle as the leather shift boot covers it.

Here it is:

Really? I purchased the kit on the merit of this post:

Although you can't see the entire thing, I'd say that shaft is at least a little visible!

If not, I'll trim the boot down!

Never really considered doing that simply because I did not think the hole in the boot was big enough. I guess I'm also not used to an inverted boot like that either.
