Default Im thinking about a tbss...

So guys and gals, im really considering a Trail Blazer SS over my heavily built z28. The time in my life has come to a point where I would like something fast COMFORTABLE and with some damn cargo room. I am highly considering going with a tbss, I like the way they look, and the interiors look outstanding, plus all the amenities.

What are your thoughts? I want you opinions, especially from those who have had or have both a 4th gen fbody, and the tbss. Im kinda torn, It needs to accomodate 4 passengers, and have some more room. What would you do?

TBSS, G8 GT/GXP, CTS-V are your choices if you want to stay on the LSX game. TBSS & GT/GXP can be had with an auto, and V's (V1s AND V2s) & GXPs can be had in a 6 speed.

Outside of that, SRT8s are your non-LSX friends.

id probably have a TBSS if weather was really bad here. i also think a g8gt is a good suggestion for what youre looking for.

itll get better mileage than a TBSS and be faster equally modded.

My daily driver is my Trans Am, but i bought my wife a TB SS to take the kids to school etc.. and also for me to drive on the weekends with the family :-)

We love it and will keep it forever, its the best for family trips and stuff..

I'm looking for a red one to get in the next year or two. To replace my 98 GMC 3/4ton reg cab. I'd like a little more room.

My vote also goes to the G8 GT. Affordable, 4 door, and considerably more space than any F-Body. However, if you must go with an SUV...A TBSS is the way to go imo.

I need to still tow. So being able to tow 6,000lbs still works great for me. I can tow my sleds and cars.

First, if you don't have to deal with adverse conditions go G8 way more fun as a daily.

My wife and I looked at TBSS, because we wanted to get a SUV with the child on the way and I wanted something that could tow the TA if needed. We like the TBSS and the grand cherokee. We were going to do a SRT8 version but they can't tow a damn trailer WTF? So we narrowed it down to a HEMI grand or a TBSS. We decided on the Jeep because:

The interior seemed nicer
It had more features
It got marginally better gas mileage
My friends TBSS did terrible in the snow, where a Grand does great and we live in BFE and get snow.
The performance under NORMAL driving was not very different.

Now I will say this if it was going to be my daily I would have probably went TBSS, but it would have been close.

Unless you NEED the extra cargo capacity of a SUV, I'd go with a sedan, like a CTS or G8, or even a Hemi Charger/Magnum or 300. It'll handle better, be as fast if not faster, and will get better mileage.

As far as a SUV, I'd go with a Hemi Grand Cherokee over a TBSS, unless you MUST have a LSX engine. The Jeep has a nicer interior and a much more sophisticated 4wd system.

And you actually LIKE the interior of the TB? I looked at one and thought it was horrible.

OP - A GTO is still a very nice and comfortable car. Not sure how much cargo room you need but it is very roomy car for a 2 door. Also rear seats aren't made for midgets like fbody seats are.

Unless you have your heart set on a TBSS, I would consider a performance sedan such as a G8 GT or first gen CTS-V.

People are DUMPING first gen CTS-V's in AZ right now.
