Default 2004 GTO ls1 motor

I came across a local sale of a 2004 gto motor. i need to replace my motor in my 2000 z28. Its a ls1-ls1 swap just a newer motor. is there any issues with this?

I had no issue with my 04 gto engine wise, all depends on the history.

Wasnt worried about dependency of the engine. I was just curious if there was any major differences such as mounts, wiring, ect... anything that wouldn't let me use a gto ls1 motor in a 2000 Camaro.

Im pretty sure everything should bolt right up to the engine. Now the GTO external parts like pulleys or alternator might be different but the block should be the same

Everything is a direct swap for 04. The 04 should be the LS6 block, which had a few minor improvements over the standard LS1. Nothing that effects installation and running. It does have better bay breathing and I would recommend an LS6 valley cover and ditching your stock LS1 valley cover and pcv system. The block is internally set-up for it, might as well use it.
