Bleh. Makes me think of an unpainted hood on a painted car (not that I'm one to talk; both of my cars have primer hoods right now. )

That looks horrible. All that's gonna look like is that you bought the hood used and didn't have the cash to have it painted.

To make it look right, you'd need to have the black carry over to other parts of the car, such as the sail panel and at least the headlight doors, some of the front bumper, and the tops of the fenders. That way it looks like a two tone, and not just a mismatched hood.

IMO it'd look better if you just left it in the gelcoat....that's how those come right, white gelcoat?

I agree with the last post. Unless it's a carbonfiber hood(which may look okay) it'll just look unfinished. For the black hood to work you would have to make it a two-tone paint scheme. Maybe black up front and then fading to white in the back.

I agree that it will look unfinished, I've seen a few pics of exactly what you are talking about and IMO it just looked out of place. Is the hood you are buying already painted black? If so you could always paint it white and have some black stripes left on it. Might save you some cash. Or even have a black bird on the hood. All in all, it's your car and if you like it then be happy.

If its just the hood that's black I don't think it will look good but like what someone else said if you match it with some black rims, black ceta and a few other pieces it would look nice. I suggest you head over to the paint and body work section for ideas.

Haha, yup, just you and Duval!

IMO the only cars that can pull that off are late 60's/early 70's Mopars.

I like the car in the link in post #2. Do the fender strips, CETA mod, and black wheel if you want that. (I like flat-ish black C6's on white cars)

Never liked "other" color body panels. This includes carbon fiber, "berger" panels, ceta mods or anything else.

OP, these people are crazy!! It looks cool, lol.

But honestly, if you think you'd be happier looking out your window seeing your TA with the black hood instead of the same body color, then just do that. Seriously, it's your car and not everyone is lucky enough to be able to customize cool cars like this, so what makes you happier!
