Help me decide on my next car.

Help me decide on my next car.
Well, I have one more payment left on my Trans Am. I am trying to decide on my next car. It is a tough decision that has me pretty torn. I am trying to decide on...
C5 vette
I like the performance of the C5's but they are SO common and kinda look plain.
LS1 Bird
My initial plan was to keep my bird and do an LS3 type build but the prices of LS1 birds have came down (most anyway, for those wanting $14k for a stock f-body should be ashamed of themselves, REALLY!) and a swap would be alot easier with them. Plus I get a TON of complements with mine.
LS2 GTO
I love the GTO's but I kinda think of them as a straight line rigs made for haulin people more then ***. But I love how easy they are to work on. BUT you are limited on tire size and I love fat tires.
I guess i want everyones input on these cars. I will be most likely pulling out the engine at some point to build a new one. It will be raced. I will carve some mountains. Plus I want it to turn heads.
The C5 is kinda winning but it just seems so plain. If you got pix of some mods that really push the looks over the top I wanna see them. The birds are a close second mainly due to looks (love a dropped WS6 with Blackbird stripes!) And the goat is in the rear. I like it because its a more "mature" car with a ton of potential. Its just a little tall, and the tires are a little skinny.
So I dunno folks, what do you think?

I'd say just go with the c5....maybe you can find a good deal on a z06. I say this because it seems like you don't care much for practicality. Vettes are a hell of a lot lighter than a goat and it doesn't seem like you will miss the back seats. If they are too plain get some nice rims, a badass hood and some stripes and your all set.

I think that if anything on your list is too "plain", it's the GTO. Even a base V6 F-body looks more aggressive than a modern GTO.

The C5 is going to be the most car for the money out of the bunch, but man, you see them sooo much, they pretty much bore me. I guess that doesn't matter though, a good car is a good car, which the C5 indeed is. It's like having an LS1 F-Body X2 when it comes to overall performance, it's hard to beat that for the money so I would probably go with the Corvette out of your listed choices.
BTW, have you considered an 03/04 Cobra?

I agree, I'd go C5. Yeah, they're not exactly rare, but they're good cars with lots of potential. Plus they're just the coolness of owning a Vette.
I really like them myself. A friend of mine has one, and every time I see it, or just stand near it, I think to myself "this a cool car, man".
And, like another friend of mine who had a C5 about 6 years ago used to say, "the Vette gets 'em wet". Meaning, you know, chicks dig them.

My friend has a red FRC and it gets lots of attention everywhere we go. The FRC came with Z51 suspension only, 6 speed tranny, no rear brake ducts. Its supposed to be stiffer and lighter with its hard top over the targa top and convertible.

I did not know all FRC's were Z51's. I will keep that in mind. I dont think I can swing the Z06. I am trying to stay close to the $15-16k range. There is a C5Z down the block from me for sale. But I can only get him down to $18.5. I just might pull the trigger on a C5.

Just something about the carrier-deck rear that I like over the hatch-style.
