I bought a magic stick 4 cam with pushrods and double valve springs from texas speed yesterday at the LSfest and I need to know if it is safe to go ahead and install it with a 85mm intake and throttle body without doing a new tune. The car has a tune on it now for the headers and air lid. The reason I want to wait for a tune is because money is a little tight after buying a truck and im going to do a E85 swap.

with that big of a cam you will not be able to drive it...it will cut off and spit and sputter and will die at every stop light... at least get a mail order tune if you cant get too a tuner asap...even them I would not drive it unless I had not other choice

^ This, if it was a smaller cam you could probable drive it without a tune but it would probable run badly, but with a cam that big the car probable won't even run and if it did you would probable risk breaking something

Also depending on the mileage on the car I would change out the oil pump for something that flows better and other supporting mods that guys normally do when upgrading the cam

The only dumb question is the one not asked. Way to use your head and check with those who know. You just saved yourself some headaches. I think sometimes people respond to a good question in a way that is geared more towards getting attention than respectfully answering the person wise enough to ask.
I think you're gonna like it when the cam goes in and it gets tuned by an expert. Enjoy safely please.

If the car has full bolt on's then the car will run good with that cam with a tune. When I said supporting mods I didn't mean intake, headers, or aftermarket parts like that. I meant internal engine parts to help the engine deal with the added pressure you mentioned that you bought new pushrods and springs. Most people would strongly suggest replacing the oil pump and timing chain just for extra piece of mind. It would suck to install all of those parts and then have the timing chain or oil pump give out a few thousand miles latter.
And pretty much any cam will go with a full bolt on car, it just depends on what kind of power you want out of the car and what your goals are for the car.
