Default 5-W30 too thin for Middle east?

So I am using typically the 5-w30 Liqui Moly oil for my ls1. The thing is, I live in Lebanon, Middle east, the weather here isn't as cold as where most of you guys located.
The lowest tempreture gets to Zero in winter and that's not even in the city where I am. And the highest could be 30 C in Summer.
Shall I keep on using the same visciousity or go to a thicker like 5-w40?
Note: car hits the track every week or so.
Thanks in advance

10w-30 would be better. I don't think you should worry about the cold. The owner's manual recommends 10w-30 as well for anything over 0 degrees. (page 6-14) It only recommends 5w-30 for extreme cold below 0.

First number is how thick the oil is when it's cold. Second number is how thick it is once it's reached operating temp. So with that said, most manufacturers like their customers to use a 5w or even a 0w in extreme cold so that the oil is less viscous on start-up. Since your never going to see those cold temps I'd go to a 5w-40 so you have a thicker oil at operating temp where the engine will see the majority of it's driving at in your hot climate.

Added: With that said it wouldn't hurt anything to run a 10w-30 or even continue using the 5w-30 you are using now.

Since most LS1s respond well (based on UOAs [oil reports]) to a thick 30 weight or a thin 40 weight, something like a 5w40 Mobil 1 would probably be a great choice for your hot summers.

In my region, I use an 0w40 Mobil 1 with great results. Some of the 5/10w30s are a bit too thin for optimal results with an LS1....not that they will exactly be harmful, but the ones on the thinner end of their spectrum are just less than ideal for this application.

Driving in South Texas, I use 5W-30. You'll be just fine.
