If you're not going to keep it I wouldn't invest any more money in it. If you keep it a lid and cat back exhaust are a great start.

Depends on what your goals are for the car. Do you want more power, better handling, or both? Lots of different options for ways to go with the car. To even begin to give you ideas we would have to know where you want to go with the car. Like said above a good general upgrade path would be a CAI, Lid, Ported Throttle Body, LS6 Intake, Headers, y-pipe (catted or off-road), cat back, and a tune. In general that should bring your motor HP from 350ish to around 400ish.

You didn't mention if it's an A4 or an M6. If it's an auto, and stock, nothing, outside of giggle gas, will give you a bigger bang for the buck, and increase the "fun to drive" factor like a stall. If it's an M6, as previously stated, exhaust and a lid are a good place to start.

if its an auto nothing short of a power adder ( sc ,turbo ,spray) will change its attitude more than a quality convertor in the 3500-4000 range , or drop its et more without opening up the engine.....

he could get up to 400ish...becuase you have the same mods that you recommended to him and with only 340RWHP...

Honestly its stupid to spend a penny on any mods if your going to turn around and sell the car soon. And as far as recommending mods there are a million ways to go about modding a car, so without knowing your goals and what you want out of the car its useless to even try and make suggestions.

I'm going to say just from my experience that you make sure you do plenty or research and do them in proper order. Like lid, full exhaust, and ls6 intake. Then move up to the bigger stuff. My problem is the person before me got a lid and exhaust then when to gear but had low pro's on the rear... All about the mods complimenting each other. And a shift kit and converter will keep an auto running with the m6's

I'm guessing he was referring to flywheel HP and not rear wheel HP.

He said motor or flywheel HP. In general that should bring your motor HP from 350ish to around 400ish. Add the ~15 % drivetrain loss and the numbers are right on. A car making 340 RWHP is roughly a 390 HP motor

I said 400ish at the motor which correlates to about 340-350rwhp. Lets read posts thoroughly before making comments like that.
