OK, OK, so this isn't breaking news, but I still can't wrap my head around the Hennessey Venom GT. The mid-mounted twin-turbo LS7 motor is good for a claimed 1244 HP and 1155 LB-FT and it's moving just 2700 pounds. When translated into forward motion it's good for a 0-60 time of 2.7 seconds on the way to a quarter mile of 9.92 @ 163 MPH. But when the throttle is mashed for a full 2 miles the car can reach 265.7 MPH. For reference, it took the almighty Bugatti Veyron a whopping 4 miles to reach to 254 MPH. Score one for the American supercar! Here's the best part; the Venom GT was still accelerating when they ran out of runway!

Food for thought:
"This guy" and about 40 other people on his team are still in business, building over 500 cars a year, for people who are happy enough to own multiple HPE cars at a time mostly, out of the same 30,000 square foot facility, located less than 100 feet from the 3rd largest Interstate in the country we've been at since 2007. We have a location in SoCal, and brick and mortar shops/offices now on four continents.
Don't you think if the e-stigma your speaking of was true, there are about 10,000 problems stemming from the facts I just stated? HPE is located off exit 713 off I-10 in Texas, paints a much clearer picture than some old stories on the internet, that simply boil down to the fact that a shop had grown over 400% within 2 years, couldn't keep up, and issues stemmed from that, which were solved. Common sense.
