Default oil pan removal

I am in the process of changing my cam, valve springs, oil pump and timing chain. I have loosened all of the oil pan bolts but I can not get the pan to drop down. How do I get it to drop down enough to get to the bolt on the pick up tube? I have tried prying from the front but it wont come loose and I am afraid I am going to mess up the gasket or mess up the aluminum. Any and all help is appreciated.

You loosened the bolts for the bell housing that bolt to the oil pan? Those probably need removed.

There should be 14 bolts for the oil pan not including the transmission bellhousing bolts that go into the back of the oil pan.

That may be the problem. I may not have removed them all then. I will double check tomorrow.

There is rtv at the front and back corners of the pan, but I wouldnt think that would hold it up. Maybe take some pictures of what your working with.
