What will 8-10k budget get me

Well I set another code today. It's a PO300 (multiple cylinder misfire). I still have the PO327. Other than that, I did enjoy driving it today. When it comes to a stop and it's idling at 1000rpm ... it slowlly goes down to 750 but it's rough. Even though it's still high, it has the feeling that it's going to stall out.

Well ... enough is enough ... going back to the C6. I drove it today but cleared the codes before leaving for work. It went almost 80 miles before it popped another PO300. That's concerning.

Just a thought.... my voltage has been jumping around for a bit. I'm going to replace the alternator and go from there. I could see how the fluctuation could cause codes to be set.

His car is very quick, but the driving manners are not for everyone. Personally, I would use a 3200-3600 stall. You need at least 3000 to get it into the power band, even with a mild cam. Anything over 3600 is getting into "race car" territory. The 3000-3200 range is more "daily driver" friendly. It just depends on your tolerance for "street car" vs "race car".

I thought that I'd mention that my "low oil" lamp came on last night. I just changed the oil around 3 weeks ago. I put in 5 quarts.... I think it calls for 5.5 quarts, but most just put in 6 quarts? Is this typical for an engine that is still breaking itself in?

Not typical no...what's on the dipstick? Stock pan? I've never just put X amount into car..always check. Could also be plug on low oil sensor loose. Passenger side pan. Or bad sensor. Should check into asap. Catch can full?

Update: Check engine light is still on with a PO300 and PO327. I'm concerned with that as well as the oil being used. I haven't pulled any spark plugs or checked the catch can. Also should I be concerned with this:
Fuel mixture issue?
I'm enjoying it ... but have concerns.
