Default VIN/RPO Help Plz

I recently bought a pair of front springs on eBay that were advertised as ‘93-‘97 V8 F body springs. I found a part number on one of them and when I looked it up all I could find were VIN codes. I kind of think he might have sold me some V6 springs but I’m not sure. Can someone decode these numbers for me please?

22077195 is the part number.

(94) Code BA, BB, BD, BH, BJ, BK, HD, HA, HB
(95-96) Code BA, BB, BD, BH, BJ, BK, HB, HD
(97) Code BA, BB, BD, BH, BJ, BK, HA, HB, HD
(98-99) Code ZK, ZL, ZP

Default Maybe it’s a V8 Spring. GM 22077195

I’ve been searching the part number and I think it might be a V8 spring. One guy told another guy on a forum that they were replacement V6 springs but I’m not certain they are. That part number comes up a lot in posts where people are looking for 1LE springs, and I think they say that the part # that I have, 22077195, is a stock V8 spring number. Anyone know? I guess I should’ve put it in the suspension section maybe. But I figured someone would know what the codes meant. I found a parts selling site that says the spring I bought was superceded by another number and they say it is for the V8’s. Maybe hopefully I didn’t get hosed. I’d kind of like to know for sure it’s not a spring for a V6 before I put it on though. I emailed GM parts to see what they could tell me as well.

I purchased this one

They say these replace the ones I purchased.

Default Bumping the Bump

Here’s an old add from ‘12 with a guy selling what he is calling Delphi shocks & springs and they have the same part number as what I bought. He says they only have 1k miles on them so they must be aftermarket. Before I confront the eBay seller, can someone let me know if these are aftermarket V6 springs?LS1.Tech ad
Then again here’s this guy saying his ‘95 Z28 had that part number too. So maybe I’m good to go. Kinda in a panic a little.

This is a portion of an RPO code. You should find a matching RPO on your SPID sticker (in the case of my '98 Z28, the RPOs for front springs are 6ZL & 7ZL).

I’m not trying to match the codes to my car though. The springs I bought are supposedly from a ‘93-97 LT1 and I was hoping that those partial codes could confirm that. The part number search left me with more questions and than answers. I hope I didn’t get a pair of V6 springs.

Not sure on the specific part numbers, but here is an SPID for a 1996 Z28:

As seen above, the RPOs for the front springs on this one are 6HD & 7HD (and "HD" was listed in your first post as being applicable to the part number you posted for 1995-97 V8 cars).

Have you checked on Facebook? There is a 93-97 F body group that is really active. I wonder if they could check it for you?

It wont let me link the page so here is what it looks like.

Good idea. I’ll see what they know. I reached out to the seller, I’ll attach a screen a shot of his response. When I was searching around I saw a few old ads for people saying they were selling oem springs off of a ‘95 Z28 and a few others and they reported the same part number that I have. So maybe I’m in good shape.

Ebay has been good to me lately. I still think I would ask on that group. A lot of those guys are die hard LT1 fans.

No sir, nothing new really. I haven’t reached out to the Fb crowd yet. But based on some old classified ads and the ‘96 LT1 RPO tag that @RPM WS6 posted I’m confident enough to roll the dice on them. If they’re bouncy soft then I guess I’ll know. I reached out to a mechanic that I used to work with asking if he would assemble and install the fronts and he said he’d do it for $150. So I’m going to jump on that deal. I have to work half a day this Saturday so it might not be until next week. I might do the rears this weekend. Or before if I take it to him Saturday I guess.

Good deal! I wouldn't pass on 150 either. Hopefully they work out. Let me know how it goes. I am interested in the end results.

I called to touch base with Ole boy today about him doing the shocks and he was kind of wishy-washy about when he’d be able to do it. So I’m thinking I might have to rent a spring compressor and learn how to use it.
