LS1 ran a 14.00??
Well i went to the track to watch some racing since i cant do any til my tranny is finished getting rebuilt. Well me and my buddies were all there standing right beside the tree on the track when an ls1 trans am ram air car pulls up, im like ya guys here we go. I could tell it was an M6 just by the burn out and way it was, well he left not to bad of a launch but when finished it said he only ran a 14.0? i was like WTF. All my friends laughed at me bc i have a ta also it made me feel so bad just thought i would share how this dumbass made all of us look bad especially in an M6.

Going by times you see at the track isn't an accurate way to decide how fast a car is - most of the people who show up at regular test and tune nights aren't exactly the best drivers in the world, lots of 1st timers. You'd be surprised how screwing up a launch and short shifting can really add time to your e/t.

my 01 t/a when it was stock went 13.5 @ 104 105 with an A4 but my buddy with an 02 M6 (not stock) did 13.8's 14.00's then finally did a 13.5 but all of his passes were @ 109, his problem, old hard tires. old hard tires=crapy 60 ft, crapy 60 ft=crapy E.T.
still a 14.00 is faster than most people give credit for my blazer off the bottle runs 13.8-14.1 depending on temp, but it hooks up great, track or street, my point is I can take my 14.00 blazer on the street and smoke most cars from a dead just b/c of traction. just remember power you can't apply to ground is worthless.

I ran a 18 the first time, a 14.2 the 2nd time and a 13.8 the 3rd time out to the track.
On a 100degree day I hovered at 14.0/13.9 for almost 25 runs.
Launching a 6 speed is hard, too much and you spin the tires, too little you bog. On top of that, you always have that damn 10 bolt in the back of your mind...
I'm hoping to cut my 60ft to something better than 2.4 as that's really killing my e/t more than anything else.
