Default CRAP!! (dead LS1 revelation?)

IF the IAC is bad, and I know it is, its also intermittant. If you un-plug an IAc, the car should die. I think (car had AC on both times...and if I was giving it gas, it was VERY LIGHT and the 2nd time none at all) that the IAC may have taken a ****, whne the key was cranked, it re-set being as its intermittant and the IAC could have killed the car both times. The IAC was the only code thrown. Possible or am I dreaming!?

New symptoms. Car died 2x on the way home from GM.

#1 entering gas station (only could get 13.3gal in her...not low fuel)
#2 trying to LEAVE gas station (it cranked fine and went to the pump from 10 feet away, shut her off, got gas, tried to crank it up and leave and it went to 550 rpm and then "choked" and died.
#3 it kept going to 500rpm and choking as soon as I got off the key when crank attempted
#4 tried WOT and cranking it...same result
#5 banked on the tank and tried to crank it...same result
#6 cycled key on/off 5-times rapid...cranked right up

Death #2...ALMOST...it dropped to 550 rpm at a traffic light and was sputtering, I immediately pumped the throttle and after 2-3 pumps it shot to 2000 rpm and I let off and it was fine, had a VERY erratic idle (sometimes 1200rpm, sometimes normal on the way home, not surging, just "off" from light to light)

the IAC is bad I know, could this cause my issues? Can an IAC kill something like I described?

IAC has a major effect on idle conditions. If you know it's bad (per your other post), then why not replace it and see? That seems to be the only known issue at the moment so I'd start there...

IAC = Idle Air Control
Its not a sensor. Its an actuator (sp). It controls the amount of air allowed to bypass the throttle blade when the blade is closed. If its bad the car isn't going to idle correctly, could possably die when your foot isn't on the gas and may not allow the car to start without opening the throttle yourself. It sound to me like yours is sticking sometimes and not allowing enough air to get past the throttle blade causing the car to idle low or die.

Also your GM car won't start if you hold it at WOT. The car will go in whats known as clear flood mode and you don't get any injector pulse.

Again, I'd replace the IAC motor. It's a SUPER easy repair so long as you have some Torx bits, costs about $100 for the part from GM, and the dealer has confirmed that it's bad (correct)? That just may solve your problem. Give it a shot.

Just replace the IAC if it's a "given" that it's bad. Is that all GM found with it?

It is a given it is bad. The fuel pump was 58psi idle and 54psi WOT VERY HEALTHY imho.

The IAC is where im pointing my finger, I ordered one tonight for $89+tax (discount baby!) from Oreilys (shipped from dallas, here in the morning@7:30). I think its the IAC to to be honest as it only does it in low/no throttle conditions and pumping the gas when it started to die at that light saved it. Man, this is a load off my mind! They are even gonna let me barrow the torx deal to fix it, I know my way around an IAC (owned a mustang 5.0...)

It's worse than that, the OP is banned, so he won't be posting a reply here at all.
