I decided to start looking around for an LS1 formula, casually (trolling sales forums and the like). I looked on autotrader and bam, there was the one that I wanted ![Icon Lol](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_lol.gif)
Funny how it happens like that. When you're not really 100% ready to buy, you find what you are looking for. When you need a car by yesterday, you can't find ****. This car was really local to me. In the three seperate times I have looked for f-bodies in the past three years, I could never find any formulas, they are so few and far between.
Don't get me wrong, I like the trans ams and camaros too. But I have already had two camaros, so I wanted something different. I like the appearance of the trans am, but there is just something about the understated look of a formula that gives me a half-chub. This was listed for $11k at a local dealership.
I ended up paying $9,900 for it. I could have gotten a better deal if I had played more hardball, but I really liked the car, and wanted to sew things up before tomorrow (I am leaving for NY for a week). When you're looking for something very specific, you walk a fine line of wanting to get a badass deal, and not wanting to let that car get away, making you look for another car for months...
I wanted an auto this time. It's my first auto fbod/ybod. Honestly what made me want an auto was racing our trailblazer ss at the track - it is really fun!! Just kind of hit the gas and enjoy the ride. Plus I have been really impressed with a couple of my friends who have auto f-bodies.
As for this car - it's very plain jane 1999, like I wanted. It has dark gray cloth interior (will change to leather), 3.23, 4 channel rear, t-tops, 16" stock wheels. The only modifications are a flowmaster and a tornado
yes, I'm serious. Someone really dumb used to own this car.
All it really needs is a good cleaning. The dealership did a horrible job. I am going to go medieval on the interior with my new mac daddy carpet cleaner when I get back from vacation. I know I can make it look brand new again.
So what really drew me to this car? The mileage...check it out...

And here's a few pics of it sitting in my driveway.

Good looking car and very clean. That seems like a good deal to me for the mileage that is on the car! Should be a great car, and good to hear you got another f-body after reading some of your posts about missing your f-body's. Enjoy, and let the modding begin.
