auto, bone stock Z28 vs 05 S2k 6 speed with bolt ons?
I just picked up my Z and my friend with a S2k says he can take me easily. I dont drag race much at all and wanted to run him just for fun on the highway only till about 70mph.
Same question for a stock 99 Cobra as well how would this match up be?

Short answer. No, not really.
I have been on a road coarse with an S2000. Maybe he was not pushing it very much but he was no competition at all. Yes, I've got a big power advantage but it wasn't really close in the corners either.

I was going to say I have actually been a road course with a few different times and they have not been a problem there either. Remeber they have straight aways and once you get in front of them they don't catch up.
The S2000 will be no problem.
That isn't to say it isn't a fun car to drive, it just dosen't have the Power of an LSx vehicle.
My experince has been with the older ones. I would assume they have made a bunch of improvements on the 06 models.

Smack the **** out of that S2000. Seems like a lot of those guys are cocky bastards anyway. I think your power advantage would make up for any cornering shortages on a road course too.

3 seperate times with 3 seperate drivers and cars. I hope all the drivers sucked bad.
No doubt it is a very compentent car but on the course up here in Wa (Pacific Raceways) they have a nice big straight away and you go right by the earlier models in a bone stock LS1 car. Torque is our friend.

I figured the S2k would be cake however this owner claims he beat a 03 SMG M3 and a Saleen mustang from 99+ years. This guy knows how to drive and he said he G-teched his car from 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. Dont know what he has done to it but its not stock.
Im bone stock so I should run around 13.7-14.0 correct?

The fact that he said he could "take you easily" tells me right there that he doesn't have a clue, and that he is a typical ricer.
Race him on the highway, and make sure you start the race in the powerband of either 2nd or 3rd gear. That way he shouldn't get any jump on you. You will rape him if he has anything short of a turbo, LS1's are nasty on the highway

No contest! This coming from a former S2000 owner! My S2K was I/H/E and I could stay at an auto TA or Z28s back bumper til about 100 then they would slowly walk away. I NEVER lost to another S2000 if that means anything. You should smoke him.
