Not a good day. On my way to work this morning everything was going fine up until a mile away from work. My truck just shut off on me as I was driving. Popped it into 3rd and got her running again. Did that a few times until I got her into work. I popped the hood after I parked it and the engine was smoking kind of bad. I figured it was just some oil burning because my pcv was broke and I had some oil on my valve cover. Planning to tune it up tomorrow I went on with my day.
Got in my truck this afternoon and everything was running fine until I got within a mile from my house. Then things started acting up real bad. It was dying constantly. I babied it to my house and as I shut it off I popped the hood to check everything. This is when I was greated by a fireball. The exhaust manifold and plug wires were flaming. Got everything put out and now Im kinda screwed.
I bought the truck for $700 and all the fluids were fine and it was treated me well for the past 2 months Ive been driving it. Now it pulls this on me and Im most likely going to have to drive my Bird for the remainder of the winter because Im not going to dump alot of money in repairs. Indianapolis hasnt had a real snow yet, but as soon as I get my car out we're going to get hit, its just my luck. Sorry, just had to vent a little.
By the way, it was a Ford Ranger
