Need a car cover...
Hi, I have an 01 WS6 and need a car cover that FITS the car. I want something that will protect it outside b/c I dont have a garage. I would like to get a good one that keeps rain out but still breaths, keeps it cool, ect. ect. ect. I want to stay under $150 if thats possible as well.
Who/What/Where?
Will leaving the car cover on the car cause the interior to heat up in the sun more than NOT having it on due to the greenhouse effect?

Well allow me to jerk myself off some more
Do you think that the SLP cover scratching that one car was just a fluke? If it is a 1 time thing and a LOT of people like their SLP covers, I might consider.

spend the money on a good car cover. The way that i see it, I have spent 5-600 dollars in deatiling supplies and countless hours applying them, so why not invest in a quality cover. I just got a coverking (stormproof i believe), its been on for 1 night and it fits and protects real well. It cost $317 shipped to my door.
The porsche has a similar cover exept, it is more expensive and it has a microfiber weave on the inside to protect the paint, thats one that i dont want to have to replace...

I have the slp cover and I can't complain. It breathes, coated with a reflective surface, and fits like a glove. It even has a cable to lock it underneath. Yeah, there will always be some dumbass that will put the cover on a dirty car, rub the particles against the paint, and claim that the cover scratched the car. You will be smarter than that, plus it comes with instructions saying only put the cover on a clean car, for those without common sense.

I lean towards the SLP cover. For those of you WITH car covers, is the interior kept cooler by the cover than without on a very sunny day? Or does it bake like an oven with it on

Just buy a Noah! You can get them from just about anywhere for $150 plus shipping. That's one of the best cover for that price point. The next step would be to go to a Weathershield or Weathershield HD, but those run you $310-390. You may want to check properautocare.com

Anyway,
I have a Covercraft cover. Granted my car sits in a garage, so I have the dustop series. It's the best indoor cover money can buy, IMO. Fit is perfect, quality is excellent, and it filters dust exceptionally. Ultra soft, no scratches ever, thick enough to protect the car from minor dings, etc.
Covercraft also makes outdoor covers, a few different types. That's what I'd get, if I needed an outdoor cover.

I just ended up getting the car cover from summit. The wolf one. Supposed to be the best at that price point. I hope it works good. I have my car outisde in a carport, but rain can still blow in and cats can jump on my car, so I got this to help keep it top shape.

try www.calcarcover.com ....I bought mine from there a few years back for my old 68 and those guys have like 3-4 different covers you can choose from for your car. Real good quality too! I know theres one for like $109 though them.
The SLP one is really good too. I forgot to put the lock on it though after a hard night of drink'n and someone stole it!

BLK.WS6, I dont know if it would be worthwhile to get the cover considering that A) the car will almost always be dusty or dirty unless you have just previously washed the car. B) the cover will be outside most of the time and BECOME a mildew magnet after a few months, well a year, but my point being youd have to ensure it properly dries all the time. C) the theft issue(happened to my buddies cover, he vowed vengence, but we're still waiting) which is just brutal.
IMO, Id just wait til spring and then put in time to adding a **** load of zaino(or equivalent wax/polish system) which will provide a good barrier and remove scratches rather than adding to them. But thats just me. My WS6 sits in the garage uncovered since mice like to get imbetween the cover and the car. I HATE winter, pretty much every yr they salt the roads to hell and back, which causes almost 3-4 washes just to get the paint cleaned off to the condition it was before winter, then comes the paint clean, polish and wax from hell!
