Daily Driver SS M6?
I'm looking to get another LS1 SS M6 come spring when my '67 Camaro sells.....
I used to have an 01 SS M6 with bolt ons....but now I drive about 60-70 miles a day for school/work, and I will be doing so for about 2 more years, I don't want to have a 150k mile car when I get done, will that be too rough for the car to drive it that much EVERY day? It's either buy an LS1 or a daily drive, but I can't have both
Thanks

I see no reason that it would hurt the car. I mean you will be putting the miles on it, but they are strong motors and I see no problem with it. Mine is a daily driver and I wouldn't have a problem driving it 50-60 miles everyday.

If you can only have one, get the LS1. They've proven themselves to be reliable, as long as proper maintenance is performed. Plus, it's a fun car that you probably won't get sick of driving. Plus, who knows, you might be able to save a little cash while you have the LS1 car and buy a cheap daily for the days you don't wanna take the nice car out. The way I look at it is like this: I bought my car, I pay a lot of money for my car, I'm sure as **** going to drive it and enjoy it as much as possible.

I DD my car and it has 104,xxx miles on her. If something breaks then you have a chance to fix it with something better than stock. Something will go wrong, it is impossible to drive a car every day and put those kinds of miles on it, but if you keep up on the maintence then it might only cost 100 bucks compared to 1000+

Oh I have no fear in LS1 ....I also don't care about the value...once I graduate I plan on 400+cid/th400/9''
I just hope to find a car with under 50k miles!
I daily drove my 01 SS m6.....about 50 miles a day, but I only had the car like 7-8 months.....God do I miss her
....yes...those are 18's

I used to daily drive my 01 SS when i 1st brought it now i don't. I picked up a Trans am A4 You shouldn't have a problem at all with a F-Body daily driver!!! If you miss your car so much it shouldn't even be a 2nd thought in your head

26mpg with the M6....so about $6.50 a day, depending on where you buy gas
I'm just struggling between finding a low mileage Z and putting a couple mods....or a SS m6 with low miles.....*burrrr* I'm getting goosebumps again

I just bought an '02 Anniversary SS M6 with 26K miles. Bright Rally Red, the stripes, the works...and it is my daily driver. I, too, am a full time student and I drive it about 180 miles a week. At first, I had the same thoughts as you did. But ya know what, I bought that car to drive and enjoy, so I do. I am SUPER careful about parking and other cars around me in general, but I bought it to drive, and that's what I do. Each must make his own decision, but give that a thought.

That's certainly possible. My first one was a '98 M6 with 48k miles that I got for $13,000. Drive that sumbitch, that's what we buy them for!
