How much would you offer?

How much would you offer?
Hey all,
Im looking at a 01 WS6 auto T-Top. The car has 48k miles and is in excellent condition. The interior is mint. Has a few small flaws on the NBM exterior. The car has full exhaust (long tubes, catback), chrome ZR1's (12 out back) and STB, SFC, lid, and I think a stall. The car is also lowered from what I can see. I drove the car and everything seemed tight. The dealer wants 17k for it, which I think is a little high. What do you think? I want to make an offer in the next few days. I was thinking mid 15k.
Thanks for your input

17 is about right, blue book should be around 18. Problem is the car is modded. Get it checked out but I seriously doubt they'll drop lower than 15. Especially that it's now close to spring time.

You can always talk cash in hand or what I've done first is shoot them some what of a low offer. Say 12k, then when they say that not going to work. Then start telling them the things that you don't like about the car, slowly bring your price up to nearly what your wanting to pay. They'll come down some on the car but tell them you really would like to purchase this car, but what their asking is to high. Then come out and say 15k out the door tax title and lisense and all. Know what you can afford before going in there, what you want for a monthly payment, and what type of financing you can get. Good luck, car sounds like a good deal.

15 from a dealer is about right. Make sure the rear doesn't wine- as that is a common problem with the rear ends starting to go out. Keep on the lookout as you can find better deals.

They wanted 18k for my car 3 years ago. I took a look at it test drove the whole nine yards then went home sent and email to the dealer, telling them what I was looking for and wanted to find one under 15k or under out the door. Got an email back the next day with a link to the car I just looked at and test drove. They started off wanted 18k for the car and ended up giving it to me for 13k. At that time they were having problems selling almost all v-8s since the gas prices had just started climbing. This car had also been on there lot for along time at least 2 months.

Stock, it would be worth about 15K, modded it's more like 13K.
That salesman has got to realize not many people want a car with a stall converter and long tube headers.....
Good luck.

my 00 ss was very similar and i sold it for 16k cash. it had a few more mods than that and 49k. they're asking price is about right for a dealership, it's up to you to work them down.
