Default Fuel Mileage

Took my 02 trans am m6 to Michigan yesterday. Just got it last october, stored it over the winter, So, I never really checked highway fuel mileage.

Had a buddy and my kid with me, so I'm guessing about 600 pounds of people in the car. We stopped a few places, but mostly highway there and back.
Got 25.8 mpg, which I didn't think was too bad. Drove moderately (hey, I am capable of that). Gotta love the overdrive gears on that thing.

I think that's decent for a v8, considering my 72 cutlass won't get over 17 mpg on the highway. but, maybe that's because my foot's usually in it.......

Lol..i think i got close to 28-30 Hwy miles per gallon. I did a trip to davenport and back on a single tank (well, i filled up "just in case") and could do a trip to ceder falls and back in a take, both about 120 mi one way. Davenport is a little further, about 200 mi.

City driving with lots of pulls and lots of idling it gets real bad gas mileage but on the highway it will get 23-25mpg. That is with a cam, LTs, Tune, 4.30 gears. I cruise about 75mph which is around 2100 rpms.

I have been throughly pleased, and actually impressed with the mileage I get outta my heads/cam/4.10 geared WS6, and I have kept up with my mileage the last three tank fulls. The first tank was 114 miles with 30 of them being stop and go traffic, the rest was mainly open highway, and I had 1 WOT blast to 130-140. It acheived 23 mpg.

Next tank, ~275 miles, was nothing but just playing around. Shifting every gear just for the fun of rowing through them, and around 3k at that, sometimes higher. Had several runs in the triple digit range, and one to 150ish. 19.7 mpg that time.

The last one...~300, had a mix of things. Just drove the **** outta it everywhere going through the gears, took a buddy for a ride taking it in the 130ish range. Had town driving, and highway driving. Knocked out 21.5 mpg that tank.

I am going on a 280 mile one way trip about mid May to be in one of my buddies wedding. We'll see what she can get on a highway run, I'm betting it will get ~25+

I was shocked to see I got 24mpg on about half city and half highway with a lot of WOT runs. I was expecting to see more like 15 or 16 the way I was driving.

when I had 3.73's I used to get 27mpg as well. With 4.10's I try to use 6th a lot more often. I might still get 24 or 25. I don't calculate it anymore since it isn't my daily and I don't drive it for economy
