I was talking w/ some gearheads at work and they seem to believe that a stock WS6 can't make 13's. They say at best 14.5. They say you need at least 400hp to make mid to low 13's (I would disagree as they are talking peak numbers instead of undert the curve numbers). Do the Stock WS6 cars really mid to low 13's?

Ummm, yeah. Stock WS6s have hit 12's in the right conditions. Mid 13's with damn near a 2.5X second 60' is possible. Even with the worst 60' ever you are almost guaranteed a 13.9x in a LS1 WS6. Are these "gearheads" some old senior citizen shadetree mechanics that know nothing about fuel injection and these "new fangeled thinga-ma-bobbers" under the hood?

Reason I ask is I took my WS6 to track for 1st time recently. Below is my time slip. I hooked up well on the below run w/ M6. Car has 65K miles and is near stock. Either I'm doing something wrong or my car sux.
60' 2.24
1/8 9.527 at 74 mph
1/4 14.693 at 96 mph

Ouch, thats a rough time!! Are you missing shifts?? Seems like most LS1 Cars Trap at least 104's and thats low. Are you running 87 octane???

What year is your car? I only ran one day at the track bone stock, and I did a best of 13.69 @ 104 MPH with a 2.20 60'. So that was my baseline. I had shitty *** street tires as well, some off-shoot brand. I haven't been back, but I've added Nitto 555 street (not a big improvement but better from the last set) and everything in my sig. There has got to be something wrong. What RPM are your shifting at and are you sure you're not driving a Mustang GT?

Low 13 is what I hope to run. Changing spark plugs, wires, and filter this week. Will also run 93 octane instead of 89. I was shifting in 5500-6000 range. If all that doesn't help, I may look into a compression test and/or datalog software to see where I'm shifting and WOT% (It's hard to remember where you shifted when you're hauling but down a track).

my dads stock Ws6 that i drove went 13.10 at 110 w/ 2.07 60 foot in 80 degree weather! it would have went 12.90's but i hurt the tranny on the 13.10 pass and decided to go home before i really broke it!
and BTW those guys are not very smart and need to do some research!!

With the 89 octane you were probably pulling timing not to mention your 60 times were pretty bad. You are on the right track with a tune up and some practice, but that trap speed is LOW. I'd do a compression check at least if not a dyno check if your trap speeds don't improve.
