Question for any Cops on here.
Hey i'm in sales, I just had a customer come in and tell me that he was just pulled over, while he was driving he heard the Officer 's voice come OVER HIS STEREO! According to this guy the cop had equipment that would allow him to over power the radio frequency so he could be heard on the car's speakers .Has anyone heard of this?Is this guy retarded or is this reality?
Cops on here speak up this is interesting to me.
Thanks

Actually with a CB radio and a poweful enough amplifier it will override all radiostations on nearby stereos. Had a stepfather that used to do this to wake me up in the morning over my radio alarm clock.

Yeah it's part of the new police interceptor package. It allows the officer to change anybodies radio station with a 100 foot radius. It's great for when the little ricer car packed with kids blaring rap music pulls up next to you, you can throw it on a country station. Next year their upgrading it so we can control the whole car, make it pull right over for you everytime!
LOL, I've never seen this happen but it could be possible or it could have been the PA

No, this is not really.. maybe it's very well possible he didnt have radio on loud and the PA was so close to him it sounded as if he was tapping the radio, besides that...no

I'm willing to bet it's probably what others have suggested... those PA systems can be loud as hell (if they work, which they usually don't ). Windows down, radio turned down, just the right wind... that's probably what it was.

On our cars you can set it up so you can hear the police radio on the PA system. I don't know why your buddy would hear it on his radio. There's so much stuff out there I don't know about though.
And yes, we can change your radio stations, pop your trunk, and look at your girlfriend from out car.

Very possible with CB AND Power Amp! Used to love playing with Dive-thru Systems when i was in high school. Also, You can hook a flourescent bulb to the antenna of it, and with the amp turned on and someone holding the bulb, if you key the mic the bulb will light from antenna to where there hand is. It's pretty sweet toy, but if i recall, the amps are now outlawed i believe.

Nah, it's true. Had to deal with it in my '96 Camaro. Would also happen when I was using my guitar through an amp in my room. Have no idea what caused it but it used to scare the hell out of me. It would be much louder than my car stereo volume. Usually would come and go in a matter of seconds.
