I read an article on ex police cars, they said that most of the time they are bargins. The department usually takes good care of the cars and they have less heat cycles on them because cops usually leave the car running, (i guess the gasgets would last longer with fewer heat cycles) anyway, the maintence they put into those cars is the good thing.

psh. I bought a lower mileage, well kept 6 spd for about that price.
If you're talking 5k, then the car may be worthwhile.
Otherwise, you can get a better deal on the forum.

well if ur in huntsville and i'm in florence find me a 6spd (rather have a m6 than a4) and tell me about it cuz i cant hind anything less that 10 with under 100,000 and i've been look'n for quite a while and i've seen the car and seen it run at the track its not beat up

police don't drive it like it's theirs so they probably don't take care of them and they also don't pay for gas so the probably drive the hell out of em. I've seen cops do all kinds of stupid things in cop cars cause they don't care about the cars...

Don't buy it. I'd lowball the guy for $5000, and see if he'll take it. If he tells you GTFO, well walk away. I'd say its due for a transmission rebuild since the cops beat the **** out of it as well.
Only cop car I'd buy would be an unmarked detective's car driven by the same guy. He probably took decent care of it.

i got my 98 t/a with 48,400miles in mint condish for $8900. that was a steal. i wouldnt take that thing for $8,000 with those kinda miles. i bet your not directly buying it from the police. your buying it from at least one person who bought it from them huh? search around more. its worth the wait. go 2-3 states over if you have to.

Usually the B4C's are used soley for interstate patrol and are used only by specially trained troopers. Also as far as the maintainence goes, every police agency I know follows the GM or Ford schedule (actually a little ahead) and everything gets done at it's service interval whether it needs it or not. The only bad thing usually about ex police units is the paint can take a beating and they have alot of hard take offs and stops. Look the car over real good, take it for a drive, check all the fluids and see if everything is in order.

bought an'02 b4c in feb for $5500 usd 100'000 mi. it needed alot of cleaning up. overspray from repainting the tan. front brakes, tires, motor mounts , belt tensioner, changed all fluids. it's in good shape i'd take it anywhere. i really dought the cops the cops beat on it harder than i do, thats why i got it.

Just be sure to check it over carefully. Money spent to have someone who knows Camaros check it over would be money well spent.
