Advice on this car
http://houston.craigslist.org/car/383282352.html
The car has 150K miles, and the guy says it doesn't have any problems, just a few dings or whatever. We're looking at this for my brother for his daily driver. He likes the Firebirds and wants something that's decent on gas. Thanks for any input. Worst case scenario, I guess the engine would have to be rebuilt. Are the rebuild kits for the 3.8L V6 that much?

It's possible for v6's to get crappy mileage too. My 1991 3.1L V6 actually got worse mileage than my LS1 did. I think it's because in city traffic, you have to put more foot into the 6-bangers to get the car going, i'm pretty sure the weight diff between the 6 and 8cyl cars isn't too much, maybe 200 lbs.

Taken from the EPA's own website for a 1995 Camaro:
3.3L Automatic 17 city 26 highway
3.3L Manual 17 city 26 highway
3.8L Automatic 17 city 26 highway
5.7L Automatic 15 city 23 highway
5.7L Manual 15 city 24 highway
So, if getting at least 20mpg is his goal, feel free to inform him that the LT1 will see at least 23mpg on the highway.

I just bought a 93 with a 3.4 and 150,000 miles a couple months ago that had no problems. Two weeks later it was torn apart in my garage while i was pouring money into gettin it running again.
