Default Has your LS1 been reliable???

Just like to brag. Other than normal wear items(spark plugs, battery, coolant, tranny services, oil, 1 set of brake pads, front rotors, shocks, and three sets of tires ), my LS1 has been rock solid reliable. I've owned the car for 4 years and drove it from 40k to 105k. Still runs and drives(and handles better) like the day I got it. Only issues I've had were a knock sensor and a camshaft position sensor. Car has never left me stranded.

Just like to hear your experiences. I'm convinced the LS1 fbody is one of the most reliable cars on the road provided you don't go crazy with mods and drive it with a reasonable amount of sanity.

My ride has been rock-solid for 3 years now. Just the normal maintenance items and that's it.

Reliable! That's why I have two, and plan on adding a third.

pass window motor sucks, tranny went out at 40,000 miles, but that was a tranny cooler line placed in an odd position that I didnt notice before the battery had pushed through the line

My '00 Z28 M6 has 100K on the odo, and has NEVER failed; to start, run hard, get GREAT milage, shift well, etc. I bought it new with NO options save for the factory p.s. cooler (less weight, things to break, cost), no not even a rear window defroster!!

NOTHING like a 12 second car from the factory, for <$21K!!

Of course, the rice/importfanboyzzz WILL NOT believe this, nor will most of the import worshipping azzhats on BITOG. I mean, afterall, it IS a domestic nameplate, and a GM product at that, right??

Bought the car back in 10/01 with 30k on the clock. Daily driven till 2/04 w/ no major maintenance required, other then the norm... I did have to have my rear rebuilt around 60k cause it was whining like a pig! We all know about the rears on these cars though... Other than that the car has ran great w/ no other problems really. Very reliable.

My last six months (not daily driver - sees about 100 miles a week):
replaced bad battery
replaced squeaky idler pulley
grinding driver side headlight motor
dead passenger window motor
power steering leaks and whines
A/C oil leaks
unknown electrical problem (after driven for awhile volts drop into yellow)
very small puff of blue smoke on cold starts
replaced transmission mount
muffler burned out (replaced with Hooker setup)
cruise control went out
02 sensor died
blew fuse and gauges quit working

Only items I've had replaced under warranty was rear pinion seal, rear main seal. (and I never noticed leaking, it was suggested by dealership)

So basically the only "issues" I've had were maintenance/weartear: brake service, fluid services, tires, etc. etc.

I'm a bit upset that one of my interior door handle LEDs is out.

but damn it's all worth it.. My car is rock solid IMO. Absolutely love it.

my car has had its problems which have all been my fault well not really my fault because im not hard on my car or not often but i just seem to have the worst luck always have with cars no matter what they are but my trans am has treated me right for the time it ran now i have to rebuild it bigger, faster, and just a hell of alot better

the moral of my story is if the car gods hate u ur gunna have problems other than that your good

My LS1 SS has been by far the most reliable/least problems out of all my cars (96 Mustang, 94 Integra, 92 SHO, 95 Z28) The only thing I replace often are tires

No problems with mine so far nor do any of my friends that have them have any problems with theirs. Changing the oil, putting gas in it and cleaning it is about the only things necessary
