im selling my 1998 z28, becuase im trying to finish school and have alot of driving to do. and i never wanted to let this car go, so im kind of pissed over it but will get one right away when i graduate in a couple years. so all the guys with fords in my area wont stop yapping about " oh you finally wanted to go faster so your selling it and getting a mustang"....even a guy who has a vette even said that (weird???)..but when i argue with them, the trash talking continues saying i should by a mustang cuz the ls1 is garbage..

Tell them to **** off. Anyone with common sense knows that [stock for stock] that an LS1 Firebird or Camaro is faster because 300+ HP > 265 HP.

You know whats funny is I've read over several mustang boards, and there are always the guys that ask what they need to do to beat a stock LS1. Most of the responses are, "alot", "dude stay away from them!", "dont try" etc. Tell them to go read their own boards

 

Thats on the few that try to keep the board technical at all times and most of the ones that 'know" what they are doing keep it real.

You will need ALL of the bolt-ons plus LTs (LTs are not bolt-ons for mustangs) and gears for the 5 speed 99-04 GT to beat a stock LS1 f-car. The autos need a stall first thing. And that just to get in front. The stock LS1 f-car will still be the first to 100mph.

 

yeah the guys saying that are either screwing with you or are completely retarded. i have a 1994 gt with a 5.0 (full bolt ons) and get raped by bone stock ls1's. the new motor's almost done, just waiting on the rockers. it's going to just be my strip/weekend car. i'm looking to pick up a ws6 when the weather gets nicer because i want a fast, reliable daily driver that looks good and i think the newer stangs are ugly.

 

just keep this in your head..the new shelby SUPERCHARGED gt500 stock runs 12.9. That car is approx 40-50 grand and is only possibly a little under a half second faster. You can save 30grand and get an fbody and be just as fast with full exhaust...Whats funny is that im comparing a 1998 LS1 to a 2008 model. amazing right?
