Default Try the UMI handle

I'm a M6 guy and was equally annoyed with the uselessness of the console cup holder until I got the UMI short-shift handle. It has the pleasant side-effect of moving the shift **** toward the driver just enough so that the cup holder can be used without being directly in the way of your elbow when shifting. It's not the greatest place for a cupholder, but at least it's useable now with only minor annoyance instead of completely unuseable like it was with the stock handle.

are you guys kidding? they are BOTH useless. The flip out one doesn't hold any drinks tight enough, I always think they are gonna tip over and spill unless its like a gatorade bottle. If I am driving where I need to constantly shift I keep my drinks in the rear cupholders. On the highway I'll put drinks in the center cuz it just stays in 6th.

Flip out = My drink
Useless = Cell and lighter.

On a side note, I glued the annoying rubber mat inside the cigarette holder to the plastic. It no longer randomly ends up in my pocket.

I love my cup holder. It is right in the way next to the shifter and is so shallow that I wouldn't dare put anything with liquid in it. I use it for loose quarters for the Bay Bridge and it holds my cell phone up perfectly.

I use my flip out for my ipod(w/ belkin holder), I'm afraid to put any drink in there that doesn't have a cap. The useless one is used usually for an air freshener.

Don't forget the pseudo cup holder in the passenger-side door panel.

Wanna different answer - here you go:

The flip out one I am using as a temporary support for my CarPC TFT LCD(planning on indash install replacing headunit), other one usually just change, etc.

I actually like the flip-out one. Its usually the perfect size for my drinks and nothing ever spills.

I'd trust that door cup holder less than the flip-out one. I've probably only used the flip-out one two or three times since I bought the car 8 years ago.

"If", I have a drink in the car, I use the flip out one, otherwise, it stays shut. As far as the center console cup holder, I use to put my cell in there way back before the heads/cam/true duals, but now it vibrates it around in there too much, so it stays empty.

No I'm saying my drinks are too small. Like the medium from pretty much any fast food restaurant jiggles around too much. I think the Medium from Wendy's fits, but thats cuz its the size of a Large. And that little 1 metal piece of **** support for the drink is a joke. thats the reason it wobbles.

i sometimes use the "useless" one for drinks, they mostly go in the back. the useless cupholder is used for my ipod when i drive. i dont use the flip out one at all. i dont trust it. plus i try not to eat or drink anything in car because im a neat freak and i flip out at people that get crumbs everywhere.. if i let them eat in my car.
