High Mileage SS for $8000?
I found a black on black '01 SS, A4, leather, power seat, one owner traded into a dealer, carfax logs nearly all services done at original dealership, minor fender bender in 2003 but I can't tell anything from the pics. Has 192k miles though. This is at a pretty reputable car lot.
Sound like one to look into or leave it alone? When you have that many miles on these cars how reliable are they? What things start to go wrong when you hit that many miles?
EDIT:
I agree. That about twice as many miles as it should have.
What about a '99 Z28, 1 owner, under 95k miles, for the same price? Autocheck says one rear impact in 2000 and one front impact with air bag deployment in 2003, though. It seems like every car I find lately has been in some kind of accident.

Personally, I would stay away from anything over 80,000. I bought an 01 SS with about107,000 miles on it for a smokin deal too. It drove fine for about two months and after that I started having one problem after the other. I know you're looking at an A4, but the biggest problems I've had has been my clutch hydraulics. In addition, the power steering pump, window motors, cooling system, rear end, brakes, speakers, suspension, alternator, and transmission have all either been repaired or replace. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't trade it for anything, but I wish I had waited a little longer. I'd say keep looking and GOOD LUCK!

I just purchased my 00 Formula M6. It was advertised for $6995. It had 152000 on it. I told the guy I owned 11 F-Bodies which I did. I nit picked the **** out of the car and walked away with it for $3750. I'd say take a look at it and offer a small amount like around 4k or less

run!!!!!!!!!!!!! i paid 9000 for my 00' Z28 with 70k. 8 is way to much for that car. Even at 5k its too much. 190k i dont care what the car is there are alot of parts that have to be worn out or close to it. IMO.

In this case, I would give a strong, HELL NO.
Look for one in the 80-100K range for that price range. Also, look on eBay and on this site to see what they're really going for.
These cars are super reliable as the car in question proves. Isn't it great that you're considering a 200K car? Know that if you get one with 100K, that's about what it will be like in another 100K.
