I agree, why would anyone want a heavier more complicated expensive engine.....just to be able to rev higher? wtf

oh my post was completely called for. You have a one man **** fest over OHCs every time you get a chance, and its getting f'n old. Ohh wow, a zr1 walked away from everything made the 5 years it was in production. #1 thats bullshit and you know it, a stout grand national would make the typical "my **** doesnt stink" zr1 owner cry in shame. and #2 even if that were the case, look at the time it was built. The "lil red express truck" was the fastest american vehicle from 0-100mph in 1978, doesnt mean it was some kind of engineering marvel

I just want to know when I can get a crate LS9, and if it fits in my Z28. That is all. I can't afford this car, but it probably the single coolest thing I've seen this week. Possibly next week as well.

Where did you come up with this? Find me one thread other than this one where I started a DOHC discussion. I fully understand the advantages, and disadvantages, of a DOHC engine. I swapped one into my Fiero because the typical disadvantages weren't applicable, and it was better in every way shape and form than the OHV alternatives. However my weekend car has a OHV engine. Now why would I drop 25 thousand on a car with an OHV engine if I have a "one man **** fest over OHCs?" I could have easily afforded a M3 with a kickass 104hp/l 8,000rpm powerplant. Because I understand the engine's downfalls, and for what I wanted, the OHV LS1 was a better choice. And I couldn't love it more. Stop saying things about me that aren't true. I have no preference DOHC vs OHV in general. I only make preferences in specific situations. For the Fiero, the DOHC. For my weekend toy car, OHV.

That isn't bullsh!t, the ZR1 was the fastest and quickest accelerating production car from 1990-1995. A stout GN could walk away from it? Not sure where you came up with this, considering the ZR1 weighs less, has 2 more gears with better ratios, has more traction, makes 125hp more, and is much more aerodynamic. That's like saying my Camaro with an automatic could walk away from a C6 Z06. It's ridiculous.

But it was an engineering marvel. It utilized technology ahead of its time, and ahead of the aftermarket. That's why it only worked half the time. Not very many early 90s cars shooting around with a fully electronic adjustable suspension, dual stage fuel injection and induction, and everything else the ZR1 had. As I said before, you should drive a ZR1, then you can make actual observations instead of assumptions, and wrong ones at that.

Plain and simple, this car is amazing! With an experienced driver behind the wheel I bet it'll destroy Dodge's SRT10 Wonderviper. My only wish is that they design some rims patterned after the original ZR1's as a nod to the cars roots.

I just read the entire article, and I'm pretty impressed. Quite the parts list.

But remember kids, do not try to eat the substance that prevents the UV rays from damaging your carbon fiber! From the GM engineer himself:

"This mystery material was originally designed to protect circuit boards from UV. Juechter acknowledges only that the substance has no chemical similarity to mayonnaise."

I've browsed through a few articles and did a search but can't find what rear gear it will have in it. Anybody know? Just curious.

Yeah, I like the SHAPE of the hood, but not the clear. A shaker would look good maybe, but like the article said, they had water entry issues that sent that out the window.
