Default What style of Intake flows the best

I have noticed there are primaraly two styles of intake for the LSX engines which style flows the most cfm and yeilds the highest gains.

I attached pics of each style.

I am not asking about brand, just simply the engineering of the intake style.

Would volant be better than a lid?

I know it's really a non-factor once you start getting up there in horse power... but still...

i like lids myself, you can also pair the lid with an aftermarket ram air setup which will also lower your intake air temperatures.

I would say the lid flows better b/c on LT1 cars lids outflow even the CAI kits which is why many LT1 guys with cowl hoods go with a lid setup..... Does anyone even make a pipe style intake for a LS1 that isnt for a F/I setup?

lids...I believe they intake less heat as well.....making a lid efficient is easy, although it will cost you. A SSRA (Austin ram air) to go along with a lid is a great option, and i believe it will work better than any of the other options....
