2 Questions - SS and A4 Related

First, I know there had to be something in the VIN that tells me that my car is a true SS or not. I heard that WU8 in the vin is what I should look for, can someone confirm?
Next, How about the tranny? Where do I look to find out what tranny my car has?

There is nothing in the VIN to tell you SS or not. It's in the RPO codes. Check the sticker on the driver's door jamb with all the 3 digit codes on it. There you will find WU8, if it's a real SS.
And if the car is an automatic (A4), then there's only one trans you can have - 4L60E. Assuming you still have the stock trans.

You can call SLP with your VIN# amd they can give you your build number if you would want to know what it is.. Besides that, everything else has been mentioned..
