The Z06 might be a ***** pullin' super car killer, but I've always wanted a blown Cobra.

Here is one for $51K
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e=&cardist=490

Here is one for $51.5K, but I emailed him and asked if he would take $50K and he said he would but the local Porshce dealer said they would give him $50K as well. I love the Lemans Blue.

Either way, I can see it getting walked by a 3.4 Whipple, but again its still a much better car and Im confident a 600rwhp C6Z would run with a 700rwhp Cobra, give or take.

I think 700rwhp for the Cobra is the max safe level no matter what blower/boost/octane I would running.

Oh yea.

Im hoping a few list at $45K with in the year. I found an 06 Z06 on Ebay with 49K and he only wanted $40K! The only issue were these odd red painted stripes he had all over the car. Someone bought it though.

I def think a 600 rwhp C6Z would hang with or beat a 700 rwhp Cobra. Both would be sick cars but id def take the Z. BTW if your considering the cobra again why look at the KB and not a hellion turbo kit?

Honestly I am a Chevy guy all the way. most of us are missing the point here, he' in a situation where he could buy a 50k Z06 or have a car that's just as quick for half the price, granted he already had a Cobra and the Z06 is in a totally different league, if money or budget was no object then of course I'd say go with the Z just to have one but in my world and like many of us out there we have other financial obligations..If you can really afford it without sacrificing anything take the plunge, but if it were me(and God do i wish that it was) I say go with the cobra. Face it Chevy created a car that rivals that of its competitors that cost way more, how many Z06 owners would buy a lamborghini, porsche, etc... if it were readily accesible to them..If it's about a status symbol go Z06, if you really just want a car that performs well and don't care about how many you see daily, how hott, etc... go cobra just my .02

Excelent post. Exactly the delima. I can just eek out the Z06 payment but with the 50-100 miles I drive a month, another 600-700rwhp Cobra would probably satisfy. One of the reasons for selling the Cobra was #1 free up money for my father at the time and #2 I didnt drive it much at all and felt guilty paying for it sitting in the garage.

How guilty would I feel paying $750 a month and mostly visit the car when I take the trash out? Man Im torn.

If it were a DD and I would enjoy it all the time and enjoy the status/performance of it each day, the would clearly be Z06 and the payments would be justified. Im really worried 4-6 days driving the car vs 24 days parked in the garage may get old when Im making the payment.

Im gonna flip a coin.

Thanks guys.

I love the TS tq and whine. They cost a bit more too.

A 600rwhp N/A Z06 would be fun and a little 75-100 shot for giggles. Hell, there are still cars that would wipe it off the map. Thats scary.

You can't beat the cobra when it comes to price. You can modify them fairly cheap as well. But when it comes down to it, the Z06 is way nicer in just about every way except costs.... and I'm a cobra guy

It's this easy...

Z06 - 60K
Terminator - 25K

Pulley - $100
Tune - $250

=

450rwhp

If you still say Z06 then get over your brand loyalty

If making a number is the only thing you are concerned about.

Exactly what poster said above. Making a number is not everything. The z06 kicks the mustang in his **** in every way possible. It is up to Jay to see if he wants to fork out the extra money for a truly badass car. Not what can be done to the supercharged engine to make it fast. That is not the argument here. He knows quite a bit about mustangs. Take a look in his sig. If you can afford the payments then why the hell not?

Haha a 600 rwhp Z06 on spray would be absolutely ridiculous! Question though I know there were some issues on I believe the sleeves? Something to do with them not being up to the task when coming to mods? Not sure if that is still an issue but i remeber seeing a few threads about some of the LS7engines shitting the bed. I could be completely wrong but something to consider.

You can easily reach the Z06 hp with a cobra... that sill leaves the power to weight ratio and not to mention the sheer badassness that comes standard with the new Z06

Yea im not sure if it was just a few isolated incidents or just rumors but I remember a few threads coming up with these issues so I figured I bring them up. Plus arent people swapping out the titanium rods for different rods due to them being so brittle? Again just a few things ive seen/heard in the forum and again could be total hearsay. I like the idea of a Headers/catback/cammed C6 on a 100-150 shot. Also FWIW I have seen a few local dealerships with 05-06 C6 vettes with around 8-10K miles for 32-35K. Not a bad deal IMO.
