Ideas needed. C6 Z06 or 03 KB Cobra?
I just sold my SS today and I have a delima. Should I spring and get a used C6 Z06 or just pick up another KB Cobra? We all know a C6Z is a better car in everyway, sort of but it also cost 2X as much.
$25K KB Cobra
+ $25K KB Cobra
Equals $50K C6 Z06
I only drive about 50-100 miles a month since I have a company truck and the KB Cobra (640rwhp) will actually be faster than a bolt on C6Z. I can H/C/Bolt on the C6Z but at what cost. Im just wonder if the payment $730-770 (C6Z) a month vs $390-430 (KB Cobra already modded) is "worth it". Im thinking YEA but help me decide.
They will both hold thier value pretty well.
Im renting an 08 Z06 in a week or 2 so I can see how it drives. I'll post up the pics.
What do you guys think?
Here is one of my favorite short vids of a C6Z ripping through the gears.

Since you have already had the Cobra get the Z and have something different. Like you said it will hold its value and if you end up not wanting it you can sell it a no loss. Also the Z would be a much bigger pantie dropper. "The Vette gets 'em wet!"

What about a modded C5Z? Yeah, the C6Z is one incredible all around car, and the Cobras are nasty in their own right, but you cant beat the modability and light weight of even the C5Z. I dont see why you couldnt pick one up for around 25, and mod the hell out of it. There are plenty of parts available to make it nasty too.

if you would wait til towards the end of summer, my buddy will most likely be selling his KB 2.6 cobra...It has a solid rear axle with 3.73s, full front drag suspension, offroad x, MAC catback, weighs about 300lbs less than stock and still has A/C, heat, CD, etc...It made 608/587 @ 21psi, spinning the drag radials on the dyno...tuner said it should be good for over 640+rwhp, and he'll be getting LT headers for it before june and then another dynotune, shootin for closer to 700rwhp...he'd be asking 30g I believe, its an 04, silver, less than 30k miles...

Don't get me wrong I love the cobra, probably the only mustang besides steve mqueens that I want. But the z06 is just mean and beautiful and the woman will flock to you. A vette is a vette

They can still be found as low as $50-52K (and ofcourse 55K+). 06 only though.
The 07+ have the better powertrain warranty but Im hoping they are pretty stout to begin with. Id also be surprised if I add 2K miles a year.

Yea, pretty stout no doubt. Im hoping it will handle a 100 shot at 600rwhp though. I see some of the guys on Z06 forums with halfshaft problems but I really never go to the track so I guess thats the only real worry. The street doesnt offer enough traction to break them, I hope.
