ok so i ran across this deal the car is a 98 T/A, it is black, t-tops, auto, but it has had some paint work,178,000 mi., a freshly rebuilt tranny and bone stock otherwise. it has a clear title and the guy said that a chick owned the car and drove from Oklahoma City to Tulsa every day so i imagine that they are a lot of highway miles.
for a ten year old car with that many miles the price seems reasonable...if all is well and as it should be
what do you guys think?
how long do the LS1's really last?

the thing looked good to me till i heard the mileage.
i think i'll pass then.
not worth it for a worn out car, even if the motor would be reliable the rest of the car would prolly fall apart after that many miles.
thanks for the input

there is a 98 here in my town right now, about the same mileage and driving history, has hail damage on the hood and drivers seat tore up, other than that stock and nice looking and everything works, $3500 i think is the asking price!!!

I sold my 98 TA every single bolt on,fresh auto tranny and WS6 wheels about 8 months back for $5500. 153,000 miles. I wouldn't be scarred of mileage as long as the car was maintained. There is a guy working with me with 201,122 on his 99 TA and the car still has original plugs
Also people on this site with over 250,000 miles

Really clean car for it's age and price too. I've said it once and I'll say it again. If you can afford to wait and travel, do it. I stole mine from a fellow in Georgia, and haven't regretted it a bit.
