They probably mean that it'll run decent once installed, like long tubes do, even though a tuned is preferred. Those cams also has a high lsa like the stock camshaft does, 118, most aftermarket cams will be slightly lower then that.

I meant no way you make 435 w/ stock tune safely cam only. Also did anybody notice you only p/u 20 w/ heads?

yes i have seen this, it is basically a baby cam, the hp advertised was to the flywheel, not rwhp, and they tested those numbers on a ls6 engine, not an ls1

DUH! and WTF does ls6, not ls1 have to do with ANYTHING!

435 fwhp = what? 400 rwhp. (still bs with that baby cam)

CAM ONLY! 400 rwhp with that "baby cam" is still BS! Especially w/o tuning!

I think what he was getting at is that the LS6 was rated at 405 to begin with. So it's a little more believable to pick up 30 hp instead of 80 to 100 with a LS1. But either way, not very likely to be sustainable. It is after all Edelbrock and they have a little bit of a reputation to uphold, so they must've done a little testing first.

More like 370-380. In an LS6? Believable, but not impressive. It's all advertising hype.

IMO edelbrock doesnt do anything well. All they are is a marketing team that makes car parts. I wouldnt ever buy any of their crap for my car.

I think it's meant for people who don't know about LS1TECH.
