Default Is this a bad time to sell an LS1 car?

I'm trying to sell my 02 Z28. Its a pretty nice example, with only 37K miles. I've had it for sale for a little while now, only recently trying the boards out. Not many people are interested. Is this due to the economy and gas prices? Should I save it someplace and wait, or just take a hit and just about give it away?

Everyone is going to tell you to save it but I am selling mine. Gas prices are just going to get worse along with the economy so unless you plan on keeping it forever just take the hit now.

yes i would say its because of the economy...people who already have a working car arent really looking to buy a new one due to more of the bad economy and also gas prices. Just save it till the economy settles out and gets better

The price on these cars will never get better again unless gas starts costing under 2 dollars a gallon again.

I really doubt if we ever see 2 dollar a gallon gas again..but tell me this...where else can you find a muscle car that gets 26-27 MPG on the highway and makes 450+ HP @ the wheels..on the interstate I get 400+ miles to a tank and back and forth to work I get about 310 to a tank..I can't drive a dull car and I am not about to start now ... there is NO econo box calling my name ... ... keep your car and enjoy it.

1. Gas prices
2. Poor economy
3. Your vehicle gets 17 MPG City
3. New Camaro is on its way
4. Perhaps your asking price is too high?
5. Its not a SS or WS6

If you have a reason to sell it go for it. There will always be someone to buy it, you just might have to hold out longer to get the price you want. I see people complain about gas and what not, but yet they still drive expeditions and any other huge suv, so obviously gas is not going to deter everyone from buying your car.

IMO, people see SSs and WS6s and say (I gotta have that) and they can't get a car that looks like it anywhere else except used since they stopped making them. So late(r) model SSs and WS6s hold their value well. You can still find them in Nebraska for 12-17000. Try and find any other 01 econo box that is holding it's value like that. That's almost half of its original resale up to 7 years later! That's pretty incredible. Vettes on the other hand are still being made and so can still be purchased easily. I say hold onto it man. Getting rid of a car is painful enough as it is. I can't imagine getting rid of my T/A. Like pulling out a part of my 1/4 mile soul.

So I say keep it, it doesn't want to abandon you.

Hold on to it, or at least wait till gas prices go down and people are looking for not so eco friendly cars

Eventually the economy will get better. I have a friend who recently sold his WS-6. He bought a Prius( wife thought it was cute) and he hates it. I let him drive my SS a few days ago and he admitted to me that selling his car was one of the biggest mistakes he had ever made. These cars become a part of you, if that hasn't happened yet then you may not have a problem with it. I am about to by a geo metro to go back and forth to work in. I'll save the real car for nights and weekends. Good luck with your decision.

my car only needs about $2000 in work to get it fully running and it will be a beast

im selling mine due to 4.50 premium prices, im a college student and i dont have my career just yet and my gf lives 40 miles away....one trip

so i have to let her go.

if you cant afford the car then get rid of it, im sure u can find another one in a couple years or so when everything is better
