Angry My interior got rained on last night.

So last night i was at my friends house when it had been raining fairly hard for about 10 minutes when i realized my windows were rolled down. So i ran outside and rolled them up, but EVERYTHING in the car was soaked. The front seats(cloth), door panels, part of the dash, radio, carpet, even the center console and shift ****/boot. The back seat area was ok tho. It was bad enought that this morning the seats are still not dry and the carpet is not even close to drying up.

Im really just worried about mold and anything being ruined. Is there anything i should do about it right now? Any suggestions or advice?

Im sick of these shiteating suprise summer showers. Didnt see a damn cloud yesterday then this happens.

go over the interior with a wet vac. Then shampoo the interior however you can. Repeat wet-vac treatment. Drive around the next few days with either the windows all the way down, or the AC on high with a little bit of heat mixed in for the dry, warm air.

^ what he said, and that sucks. I did that kind of once. I washed my car and the pass window was cracked. It wasn't as bad as your experience though

get a couple fans and park your car in the garage and leave all the doors open, windows down t tops off and have the fans blowing in the car. if you dont mind running the car for a few hours turn the ehat on full blast and put it down on the carpet

Like Tainted said....get a fan on it right away. Mold will take about 72 hours to start growing.

It also might be worth your time to take off the cloth on the seats and make sure to get the pad dry, the foam will hold mold reeeeally well. also, i believe there is some anti-mold Fabreeze for people with allergies. You might look into getting some of that and giving the car a good spray when it's all dry.

remove carpet is the only way, when a house gets flooded they lift the rugs with large fans blowing on then from the bottom, thats the only best way to eliminate the mold issue, plus the smell, that will come for sure. good luck to you .

This is what you do. ( i left my ttops out in the k5 storm a few months ago) Towels lots of them, after you get most of the surface water out go a car wash and hit up the shampoo/vacum thingy. Then drive around for a week or so with the windows down and heat on. Shampoo/vacum again and there you go.

Check with a detailing shop. They've probably dealt with this issue before.
