Question T/A Ls6 stock???

I'm thinking about buying a T/A. I've notice in my search for one that some sellers say they have a T/A that came with a stock LS6. They say GM put a LS6 in some of the T/A in the later years. Is this true?

yes some 02 T/A and Camaro's had ls6 blocks. I have seen the 1st hand! You wanna look for a late build date car in 2002

As I recall the F bodies that got LS6 blocks were not really LS6s since they did not have LS6 heads and cam. They would of course have the LS6 intake manifold however, as did all 01-02 F body LS1s.

when they refer to an LS6 block, i'm pretty sure they mean the shortblock... not the 243 heads and the "ls6 cam" that came standard in the c5 z06. the ls6 intake was on all 01/02 model trans ams regardless of what block was put in your TA. the ls1 and the ls6 block are very similar yet i believe the difference has to do with reliefs near the bottom of the cylinders that aid in equalizing pressure between the cylinders??

No, it has to be faster, 6 is bigger than 1, therefore it is faster

Sorry 'bout that. You could have added a comment in addition to the link. I don't automatically click on every link posted. My bad, I stand corrected, I'll go back to my room.
