I really don't think it will sound the same. It would sound good, but not the same.
Must have missed the part about firing order.

LS1's do sound a little funky IMO, but they still sound good... i loooove my 10.5 to 1 454 in my truck... w/ headers and flow 44's. now all it needs is a cam. To be honest, i love the sound of just about any car WFO.

the worst sounding v8 ive EVER heard was unfortunetly an ls1...buddy of mine had a 98 TA a4 with SLP loudmouth catback...sounded great for a little while...until he got LT's and an ORY. holy **** it was the worse sound ever unless it was at WOT. the most raspy **** ive ever heard lol. I have a loudmouth on my car right now, but as soon as the LT's go on, the loudmouth is being replaced by a slowmaster catback, and an e-cutout.(i live in a condo..neighbors dont like noise.)

Dude flowmasters on single exhaust ls1's sound horrible IMO..

I have heard that true duals with flowmaster 10 series are alright. But I haven't heard that in person yet.

lt1 sound much better than ls1 in general

it takes work to make an ls1 sound decent, much less good, and a y pipe is an instant ticket to shitexhaustville

LS1 sounds wayyy better then a LT1 IMO, the LS1 has its own unique sound just like how a bmw M3 does. SBC and LT1's sound similar since its same platform and block

I love the sound of an ls1! But on my old 96 gt with shortys catted x pipe and bassani catback sounded amazing. Then again even with new heads it was slow lol.

This thread needs to die all ready. Sound is subjective to personal taste so there is no right or wrong answer.

But I do love the way my car sounds now with a big cam in it

Allow me to correct myself. The new hemi has the old school gm/ford firing order. I know they're numbered differently but if you trace it out, mopar, gen1 gen2 and old school ford all have the same firing order. And the LSx and mod motors share the same physical firing order. The non HO 5.0 has an odd ball firing order though.

Ive had a stang and i liked how it sounded, ive heard a few lt1s that sound aight but i still like the way that the ls1 sounds. When you put a single chamber mufflers on a true dual setup it sounds great

The sound thread in the engine internal(or external?) section debunked that. They end up going the same order, so that has no effect, they start in a different order, but they whined up firing the same way.
