I dont think ivan made himself really clear, But i think hes asking if you had a z28 or just a regular T/A, would you try and clone a ss or ws6.

Its generally frowned upon Ivan. People with the SS's and WS6's are usually the ones who complain the most. You dont have to make your z28 or t/a into somethign that already exists. Turn it into whatever you want. Just dont flaunt it around here if you put the badges on it that dont belong. If you do, bring your flame suit.

They're really just appearance packages, you can do it but don't go around to people saying its an SS or a WS6 when it wasn't originally.

Most people that do usually want the slightly higher "resale" value of the name. That I consider despicable.

Its okay as long as you dont try to be a stunna about it and try to pass it off as a real one. But the people that convert and claim its real are "gay". I understand why you would with a Z28 in my opinion they are a little bland. But on the other hand I actually think the Formula is pretty cool being a little sleeper'ish. I like the WS6 but the wing is a little too much for my taste but I love the hood, for instance I know a guy with a WS6 big ram air hood and the low sleek formula wing and I love the way that looks. Sorry got a little off topic but maybe that can give you ideas if you have a t/a.

Its cool if they clone one as long as they don't put the badges on it or try to say its one.

I have a true 02 SS hood on my 98 z28. I just like the look of it and the functionality of the cool air coming in.

Same way I feel. Go ahead and put on an SS Hood and Spoiler, just keep the Z28 Badges cause that's what it really is.

Cloning is perfectly acceptable, as long as you make sure you always refer to it as a clone.

example:

Guy: "Hey man, nice SS"

You: "Thanks, but it's just a SS clone"

I built a Chevelle SS 454 clone out of a Malibu 350, then stamped "CLONE" on the door jamb. Always told everyone it was a SS clone. Never had a problem. BTW, when I sold it, brought me a lot more cash than a Malibu 350 and the guy I sold it too was made well aware it was a clone.

When I bought my car the guy at the dealer maid it really clear it was not an ss,
but Mr. Hambuger at slp confirmed it was with the vin.
sow for 2 years I had to explain to everyone it was a clone. just leave the stock badges.

I'm not sure why anyone buys a regular T/A or Z28 if they want to spend serious money to change it to an SS or WS6. Why not just buy one to start with? It will end up costing nearly the same. Then you have to lie about it or make excuses when asked what it is. Be proud of your Z28 or T/A. 15 HP shouldn't make you feel inferior about your car unless it is just the appearance you want. Even though cloning is widely accepted now (see Barrett Jackson auctions) many people still frown upon it and dislike the idea. You may not like my answer but you asked for viewpoints and here is one more. Enjoy your ride whatever decision you make.
