Default Windshield wiper issues - Only work with washer button

Hey all, my problem is that everytime I have to use my windshield wipers I have to use the washer fluid tab to get them going, or they will work on high for a few secs and then nothing. After hitting the washer fluid tab a few times, sometimes they will then work like normal. I am confused. Guessing it is a switch prob and I have heard how hard that is to change. Fuse looks good. Seeing if anyone has the answer to my probs. Thanks.

I had the same problem with my '95 Camaro. Never did figure it out, but it was scary as hell sometimes because even when using the washer tab it didn't guarantee that I'd have wipers.

Sounds like the wiper switch is bad and needs to be replaced.

Wow I have the same problem, never found out what it was either. Mine work maybe 5% of the time. I don't drive in the rain much but I use Rain-X which works awesome on our deeply slanted windshields and the washers to turn on the wipers when going slow. It would be nice to get it fixed though!

Is this the entire turn signal stalk or a little piece on the stalk, do you know?

considering these cars were built before the govt involvement, i know plenty of owners with out problems. maybe it is you.

to the op sounds like you need a wiper switch.

Thanks for posting that. I swapped that pulse board out last night and I am happy to say that it fixed my issue!

However(not to hijack too bad), the linkage ball for the driver's side pops out as soon as I turn on the wipers. Of course I didn't use the J 39232 removal tool or the other tool to reinstall it, but it popped right out and then back in. Did I mess up the linkage ball? Is there a way place to buy and replace just this? Zachrywd_01TA how did you remove the linkage or how have other guys done it?

Got it fixed, realized the ball was not seated all the way into the socket, used a C-clamp to smash it back in all the way and the wipers work great!
