Exclamation Security issues will not let car start.

I know there are zillions of threads on security issues but i can't find what i'm needing.

Car has been running great no issues. I went out to lunch and got back in the car and all body accessories function properly except it will not start. Nothing happens. Checked my fuses they were good. IGN. Relay did not smell burnt (no volt meter to test at the time). Jumped out the clutch safety switch and still nothing. I had a friend help push me off to "pop" start it and it would hit and cut off. So I had a friend bring his hptuners over and disable VATS. It still would not start with the key BUT when we roll started it again it fired right up. My security light is flashing constantly.

It seems that the BCM is next in line causing this problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

had this happen to me years ago, there is a wire in the steering column that has broken it reads the chip in the key and sends the signal to the pcm...not 100% how to fix it but the dealer said they pulled the column and fixed the wire and i had to get new keys...

Even if the keyed portion of the VATS was disabled in the tune...will problems from these 2 wires still keep the car from starting? All my accessories and gauges work when the key is in the "on" position.

Ive heard that the chip is a resistor and you can test the resistance of your keys chip,, and then wire in the proper resistors into the system to bypass vats.

From shbox website. I did this last week since my security light kept coming on even though it was tuned out.

I figured it out my problem. All I need to do is put a resistor in and no more evil VATS control!

Thanks for the links!
