Smile 01 Camaro Water in Trunk??

Ater a rain I discovered water in the trunk of my 01 Camaro. The rear hatch gasket looks ok. Looking for ideas on where to look for the leak. A few months ago the rear brake\turn signal bezels were replaced. Would this be a source of water leaking into the trunk?

My car was parked on flat ground.....it rained like 2-3 days pretty hard while I was away. My rear trunk area had 2 inches of water in it.

I looked everywhere, water tested everything with a hose, and its rained even harder than that since and NO water got in.

I would say to wet vac it out....and move on with your life. It will drive you friggin crazy and you'll find nothing.

It's silly but i've found the source of every leak in my fbody's by sitting in them during rain storms Or if you dare take it to a car wash

When I had my little flood......I got inside my rear hatch area and my cousin sprayed my car EVERYWHERE with a hose.......not a drop. We sprayed it for 30 minutes. Plus many thunderstorms after that flood that were much stronger storms.....not a drop.

Its a mystery........

I'm popping a drain hole in my rear trunk area so the water can get out.......and I'm raising my new amp up 6 inches. My other amp got filled with water......

Take a picture of where its leaking. There is no seal between the glass and hatch. Thats urethane that bonds the glass to the hatch. This is a very easy fix if its leaking somewhere in the urethane. $14 tube of urethane, remove the interior pieces around the hatch area, and put a nice bead all along the glass and hatch pinch-weld. Dries over night.

Or do you mean the seal under the hatch that gets compressed when you close the hatch?

Well... that's some information to work with! If the glass is leaking then I'd go to a glass shop. Your insurance may even pay for the repair 100%.
