Default anyone tried an electric power steering pump with their stock rack??

Just an idea that was brought to my attention and thought i'd ask the question. Was told the HHR's have them but honestly, have never heard a single thing about this.

Thanks!

Honestly, cost primarily. My car has 60,5xx miles on it and there isn't a thing wrong with the rack so i'd prefer not to replace that IF i can make an electric pump work with it. I don't have a way to route a belt to use the factory pump due to the alternator location and i'm unwilling to change that. I guess if I have to spend more than $400 to do this, i'd just assume get a flaming river manual rack. I do appreciate the reply though.

You might be able to add another layer of belts/pullies and bring the power steering pulley forward an inch or two. Just a thought

All the ones I have seen state >50 amp max draw. Thats seems a bit taxing on the electrical system. What pumps are you referring to? This is very intriguing.

actually not a bad idea there but I have no room to add another pulley onto the front of the snout. my turbo brace is right there. thanks for the thought though!
